What is the Pregnancy Program?

Nourishing you both, every step of the way.

You're pregnant, gentle congratulations! Originally designed as an add on for my fertility clients who wanted to keep working with me through this exciting, sometimes nerve wracking time, the Pregnancy Program now supports any mum to be from those earliest weeks through to the fourth trimester. Pregnancy places unique demands on your body, which instinctively prioritises your baby's needs, often at your own expense.

Using personalised nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle guidance, we work to minimise pregnancy related symptoms and make sure both you and your baby are nourished with everything you need to thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Starting your health journey can feel overwhelming. Here are answers to some of the most common questions.

What should I eat during pregnancy?

It depends slightly on whether you're dealing with nausea or sickness, and nutrient needs also shift at each stage of pregnancy. Early on, the priority is simply eating what you can tolerate. As things settle, focus shifts to protein, healthy fats, iron and folate, with needs for choline, omega 3 and calcium increasing further as the baby develops. Overall, it's about nutrient density rather than "eating for two."

How does prenatal nutrition affect the health of my future child?

Prenatal nutrition directly shapes a child's lifelong health. It supports vital organ formation, regulates gene activity through epigenetics, and lowers the risk of chronic disease later in life. Good omega 3 intake, for instance, positively impacts brain and eye development in the baby. Maternal health matters too. A mother with poor gut health and a dysbiotic microbiome is more likely to have a baby with allergies or eczema.

Can I start the program at any point during pregnancy?

Yes, you can. My preference is that we start in the first trimester, or even before, so we have the greatest impact. But I'm always happy to build a bespoke program around where you are and what you need.

Can you advise me on which pregnancy supplements to take?

Absolutely, and this is an area that creates a lot of confusion. Walk into any pharmacy and you'll find dozens of prenatal formulas with different doses, forms and ingredients, some using folic acid rather than the more absorbable methylfolate, others missing key nutrients like choline. Rather than guessing, supplements are built into your personalised plan based on your history and any testing we do, and I'll provide a discount on anything I prescribe.

I am really anxious during my pregnancy. Can you help?

I'm sorry you're feeling anxious. It's understandably a worrying time, whatever your journey to get here. I can absolutely help reassure you that you're doing everything within your power, both to support a healthy full-term pregnancy and to make sure you and your baby are well nourished.
