What Is The Advanced Fertility Programme?

The future of fertility care.

Months of trying. Difficult conversations. The grief of a loss, or the fear of starting IVF. If any of this feels familiar, you don't have to keep guessing your way through it. Advanced Fertility is my signature program, designed for couples who have been trying to conceive without success, or who are preparing for IVF, IUI, or ICSI. Rather than guessing, we start with in depth testing to understand exactly what is happening in your body and your partner's. From there, you get personalised plans covering diet, lifestyle, and supplementation, built around your own results, not a generic checklist.

Fertility has long been treated as a woman's issue, but male health plays an equal role, and sperm responds quickly to the right changes. This is a program for both of you, working together, with clear data guiding every decision.

Functional Testing

I have access to a vast amount of functional testing which is currently not available on the NHS. This enables me to get to the root of your fertility and hormonal challenges. My blood testing alone can include up to 600 markers. I know that data is needed before making meaningful change to fertility outcomes.

DUTCH Testing

DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) maps oestrogen, progesterone, androgens and a full daily cortisol curve, rather than a single point in time. Ovulation, luteal phase progesterone and stress physiology all follow a pattern across the month, and DUTCH testing picks up issues like a shortened luteal phase or poor progesterone output that a single blood draw misses.

Comprehensive Stool Testing

Stool testing looks at gut bacteria balance, inflammation and digestive function. The gut microbiome directly influences how oestrogen is cleared from the body and is closely linked to vaginal and uterine microbiome health, so gut dysbiosis is often an overlooked and important factor for fertility.

Functional Blood Testing

Functional blood testing goes far beyond a standard fertility panel with up to 600 markers, covering nutrient status, thyroid antibodies, inflammation and blood sugar regulation within a narrower, more clinically meaningful range. Subclinical thyroid dysfunction, vitamin D or ferritin can all sit within a technically ‘normal’ range but not be optimal for fertility.

DNA Fragmentation

Sperm DNA fragmentation testing measures damage within sperm DNA, something a standard semen analysis doesn't assess. Elevated fragmentation is linked to lower fertilisation rates, poorer embryo development and higher miscarriage risk, even with a normal semen analysis, and it responds well to nutrition and lifestyle change.

Vaginal Microbiome

Vaginal microbiome testing uses next-generation sequencing to identify the full range of bacteria and yeast present. A Lactobacillus-dominant environment is linked to better implantation and pregnancy outcomes, while dysbiosis raises the risk of pregnancy loss and implantation failure, often without symptoms.

Seminal Microbiome

Seminal microbiome testing analyses the bacterial ecosystem within semen. An imbalance is linked to reduced sperm motility and DNA integrity and can trigger inflammation, often without symptoms. This is important after recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility and early embryo arrest.

OAT Test

The OAT (Organic Acids Test) measures metabolic byproducts in urine to assess gut overgrowth, mitochondrial function and nutrient status. Mitochondrial function directly affects the energy available for egg maturation and sperm production, and this test can uncover contributing factors standard testing misses.

Uterine Microbiome

Uterine microbiome testing, examines bacteria within the endometrial cavity itself. It can uncover endometritis, a low-grade infection of the uterine lining that can develop after a pregnancy loss and can be implicated in further losses and implantation failure if left untreated.

Gut Microbiome

DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) maps oestrogen, progesterone, androgens and a full daily cortisol curve, rather than a single point in time. Ovulation, luteal phase progesterone and stress physiology all follow a pattern across the month, and DUTCH testing picks up issues like a shortened luteal phase or poor progesterone output that a single blood draw misses.

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing can look at variations in genes involved in methylation and nutrient processing, such as MTHFR. These affect how efficiently your body uses folate and manages oxidative stress, both relevant to egg and sperm quality and miscarriage risk. Panels can also extend to genetic markers affecting hormone metabolism and thyroid function.

Environmental Toxins

Environmental toxin testing assesses your body's burden of endocrine disrupting chemicals, heavy metals and pesticides. These compounds interfere with hormone signalling and are linked to reduced egg and sperm quality and pregnancy losses.

Sperm Analysis

A comprehensive sperm analysis assesses count, motility, round cells (infection) and morphology. Sperm quality contributes to roughly half of infertility cases where a cause is found, and testing both partners early avoids months of investigation focused on one half of the picture.

Mira Hormone Testing

Mira is an at-home monitor tracking actual hormone levels, LH, oestrogen and PdG, across your full cycle via daily urine testing. It reveals patterns like anovulation or a poor progesterone response in real time, giving a far more detailed picture than ovulation predictor kits or app-based tracking alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Starting your health journey can feel overwhelming. Here are answers to some of the most common questions.

What does a typical first session involve?

Our first session is a deep dive, usually around 90 minutes. We go through your full health history, cycle, symptoms, diet, lifestyle and any previous testing or treatment. From there I identify what functional testing would be most useful for you, and we build the first phase of your plan together. Your partner can join for this initial consultation, or we can meet separately - it’s entirely up to you. You'll leave with clear next steps,  and some clarity on what is actually going on.

How long should we prepare for conception?

Sperm and egg cells both take around three months to mature, so this is the minimum time we want to prepare for conception. That window gives your body enough time for meaningful changes to take effect, and to build up the nutrients it needs for a healthy pregnancy. A personalised fertility nutrition plan during this time gives you the best possible chance of conceiving.

I've been told I need IVF. Can you still help?

Absolutely. IVF can be highly effective, but in my experience the couples with the best success rates are the ones who prepare properly beforehand. That means improving the quality of egg and sperm cells for embryo formation, creating the best possible environment in the endometrium for implantation, and supporting hormones and overall wellbeing. IVF is often seen as a fix all solution, but success is never guaranteed, and many couples have been through several failed rounds before they come to see me. Interestingly, I have worked with many couples in exactly this position who go on to conceive naturally during our time together, before they even reach their IVF cycle.

My partner's sperm was normal. Does he need to be involved?

Yes please. There is always something to learn from a sperm analysis, and 'normal' rarely means ideal. Male fertility is declining rapidly, and the criteria for what counts as 'normal' has declined right along with it. A standard semen analysis also doesn't tell the whole story. Sperm DNA fragmentation and the sperm microbiome can both play a significant role in miscarriage and infertility, even when the semen analysis itself comes back completely normal. I like to involve the male partner whenever you're trying to conceive naturally or using a fresh sample.

I've had multiple miscarriages. Can you still help?

I absolutely can, and many clients come to me having sadly experienced multiple losses. We focus on nourishing your body and, crucially, identifying your individual risk factors for miscarriage. My aim is to give you a renewed sense of hope, with both compassion and expertise.

I've been diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility', how will fertility nutrition help?

Unexplained infertility simply means the standard tests haven't found a clear cause, not that there isn't one. This is where functional testing comes in. We look more closely at areas such as the microbiomes, thyroid function, nutrient status, DNA fragmentation and hormone balance, areas that standard fertility investigations often don't cover, to uncover what's really going on.

I've been told I have poor egg health, will fertility nutrition help?

Absolutely. The idea that nothing can be done to improve egg quality is outdated and simply not true. This is exactly where nutrition and lifestyle make a real difference. An egg takes about three months to mature before it's released from the ovary, so everything you do during that window, for better or worse, affects its health. Evidence based nutrition and lifestyle changes during this time give your eggs the right building blocks and hormone balance to develop well before conception. It's why my packages run for a minimum of three months, so you know you've done everything within your control. Supporting egg health in this window doesn't just improve live birth rates. It can also strengthen your future child's genetics and reduce their health risks into adulthood, something IVF alone can't do.

What happens if we conceive during the protocol?

First, we celebrate! Then we shift our focus to supporting a healthy, full term pregnancy, gently guiding you through each trimester for as long as you need me.
