Deep Dive

Deep Dive

We begin with a deep dive into your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals, alongside any existing testing you've had through conventional medicine. This comprehensive assessment allows us to see the bigger picture, spot patterns that may have been missed, and understand the root cause of what's really going on, not just the symptoms on the surface.

Data, Not Guesswork

Data, Not Guesswork

Advanced functional testing gives us detailed insight into your hormones, gut health, nutrient status, immunity, genetics, and more. By looking beyond standard assessments, we uncover hidden imbalances, identify barriers to optimal health, and build a full picture of how your body's systems are working together.

Together

Together

Getting to the root of things works best as a team effort. I always work with the male partner too, provided you're using fresh semen. I also like to work with your wider healthcare team, whether that's your GP, consultant, IVF clinic, or acupuncturist, to give you complete, joined up support. I believe in holistic care, and the best results happen when we all work together.

Transform

Transform

The result is better fertility outcomes, fewer symptoms, and feeling genuinely healthier, plus better long term health for your future child. I get there through personalised, evidence based protocols built around your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and test results, with the empathy and support you need along the way. Targeted recommendations that get real results.

More Than a Nutrition Plan

I have long believed that my title of ‘Fertility Nutritionist’ is misleading. My work goes far beyond optimising diet for fertility. These are some of the areas I might explore when working on a couples fertility:

  • Microbiomes: vaginal, seminal, gut and uterine
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Inflammation
  • Genetics
  • Stress levels
  • Toxin exposure
  • Egg & sperm quality
  • Digestion
  • Movement
  • Supplements
  • Cellular energy optimisation
  • Circadian health
  • Mindset
  • Blood sugar balance
  • Thyroid health
  • Autoimmunity

Functional Testing

I have access to a vast amount of functional testing which is currently not available on the NHS. This enables me to get to the root of your fertility and hormonal challenges. My blood testing alone can include up to 600 markers. I know that data is needed before making meaningful change to fertility outcomes.

DUTCH Testing

DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) maps oestrogen, progesterone, androgens and a full daily cortisol curve, rather than a single point in time. Ovulation, luteal phase progesterone and stress physiology all follow a pattern across the month, and DUTCH testing picks up issues like a shortened luteal phase or poor progesterone output that a single blood draw misses.

Comprehensive Stool Testing

Stool testing looks at gut bacteria balance, inflammation and digestive function. The gut microbiome directly influences how oestrogen is cleared from the body and is closely linked to vaginal and uterine microbiome health, so gut dysbiosis is often an overlooked and important factor for fertility.

Functional Blood Testing

Functional blood testing goes far beyond a standard fertility panel with up to 600 markers, covering nutrient status, thyroid antibodies, inflammation and blood sugar regulation within a narrower, more clinically meaningful range. Subclinical thyroid dysfunction, vitamin D or ferritin can all sit within a technically ‘normal’ range but not be optimal for fertility.

DNA Fragmentation

Sperm DNA fragmentation testing measures damage within sperm DNA, something a standard semen analysis doesn't assess. Elevated fragmentation is linked to lower fertilisation rates, poorer embryo development and higher miscarriage risk, even with a normal semen analysis, and it responds well to nutrition and lifestyle change.

Vaginal Microbiome

Vaginal microbiome testing uses next-generation sequencing to identify the full range of bacteria and yeast present. A Lactobacillus-dominant environment is linked to better implantation and pregnancy outcomes, while dysbiosis raises the risk of pregnancy loss and implantation failure, often without symptoms.

Seminal Microbiome

Seminal microbiome testing analyses the bacterial ecosystem within semen. An imbalance is linked to reduced sperm motility and DNA integrity and can trigger inflammation, often without symptoms. This is important after recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility and early embryo arrest.

OAT Test

The OAT (Organic Acids Test) measures metabolic byproducts in urine to assess gut overgrowth, mitochondrial function and nutrient status. Mitochondrial function directly affects the energy available for egg maturation and sperm production, and this test can uncover contributing factors standard testing misses.

Uterine Microbiome

Uterine microbiome testing, examines bacteria within the endometrial cavity itself. It can uncover endometritis, a low-grade infection of the uterine lining that can develop after a pregnancy loss and can be implicated in further losses and implantation failure if left untreated.

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing can look at variations in genes involved in methylation and nutrient processing, such as MTHFR. These affect how efficiently your body uses folate and manages oxidative stress, both relevant to egg and sperm quality and miscarriage risk. Panels can also extend to genetic markers affecting hormone metabolism and thyroid function.

Environmental Toxins

Environmental toxin testing assesses your body's burden of endocrine disrupting chemicals, heavy metals and pesticides. These compounds interfere with hormone signalling and are linked to reduced egg and sperm quality and pregnancy losses.

Sperm Analysis

A comprehensive sperm analysis assesses count, motility, round cells (infection) and morphology. Sperm quality contributes to roughly half of infertility cases where a cause is found, and testing both partners early avoids months of investigation focused on one half of the picture.

Mira Hormone Testing

Mira is an at-home monitor tracking actual hormone levels, LH, oestrogen and PdG, across your full cycle via daily urine testing. It reveals patterns like anovulation or a poor progesterone response in real time, giving a far more detailed picture than ovulation predictor kits or app-based tracking alone.

Why This Approach Works

Many health concerns are influenced by multiple interconnected factors. Rather than searching for a quick solution, my method considers every aspect of your wellbeing to create meaningful and sustainable improvements.

Personalised Care

This is personalised medicine - no protocol is the same. I treat your health and fertility as individually as your unique DNA blueprint.

Evidence-Based Practice

I use cutting edge testing and the very latest science to influence every protocol and recommendation. You can relax in the knowledge that you are in experienced and expert hands.

Holistic Perspective

Unlike conventional medicine which treats each of your systems in isolation, I consider your health as a whole. Whether that is the impact of your gut health on your hormones or how your Vitamin D and stress levels might be affecting your egg quality.

Sustainable Results

With a health coaching approach, the tweaks we make to your diet and lifestyle will feel easy and achievable. It is my aim that the results, knowledge and skills you develop will positively impact your whole family for a long time after our work together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Starting your health journey can feel overwhelming. Here are answers to some of the most common questions.

How do I know if this is right for me?

This is for you if you want a thorough, highly personalised, results driven approach. Perhaps you already eat well and take a few supplements, but you still aren't seeing the results you need. Or you may be dealing with unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage, poor egg or sperm quality, or a PCOS or hormone diagnosis that hasn't been properly investigated. My work is to dig deeper than standard care allows, using functional testing to find what's actually going on, then build a plan around diet, supplements and lifestyle to address it.

What is functional testing, and how is it different from NHS testing?

NHS testing is designed to rule out disease and works from broad reference ranges. Functional testing looks at optimal ranges rather than just "normal" ones, and covers markers the NHS doesn't routinely test, such as detailed hormone panels, the microbiome, nutrient status, and sperm DNA fragmentation. It's less about ruling things out, and more about understanding exactly what's happening in your body.

Do you work alongside my GP or consultant, or instead of them?

Alongside, always. I see my role as complementing your medical care, not replacing it. I often liaise directly with GPs, consultants and IVF clinics as part of a wider team, and I'll never suggest you stop or change medical treatment without discussing it with your doctor first.

Do you offer one-off consultations, or only programs?

My work is built around programs, because meaningful change in fertility and hormone health takes time, testing and adjustment along the way. A single session can highlight areas to explore, but it rarely gives your body enough time to make meaningful changes. I'll talk you through which option fits your situation during a free call, and I often create bespoke programs to suit different needs and budgets, so there's usually a way to make this work for you.

Do I need to order my own supplements, or do you provide them?

I'll recommend and prescribe exactly what you need based on your testing and history, and you'll get a discount through me on anything prescribed. You're never left guessing which brand or dose to buy off a shelf.

Why do I need supplements for fertility?

Our soil isn't what it used to be. Decades of intensive farming have depleted the mineral content of much of our produce, so even a good diet doesn't always deliver what your body needs. Targeted supplements and herbs fill that gap. Used therapeutically and at the right dose, they work in a similar way to medication (many medications originally derive from plants), correcting underlying imbalances rather than masking symptoms.

What if I have already had some medical testing done?

Brilliant. Please share everything you have before our first appointment. I also understand how frustrating it is when testing doesn't give you the answers you need, so I may suggest we explore further areas such as the microbiome, sperm DNA fragmentation, genetic testing or more advanced blood work.
