Hormone Imbalance
"Hormone imbalance" covers a lot of ground, and getting to the root of it means looking at the full picture rather than a single hormone in isolation. Oestrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones, cortisol and insulin all interact with one another, which is why full-cycle and comprehensive hormone testing, such as DUTCH testing, often reveals patterns that a single blood draw misses entirely.
A hormone imbalance can show up in ways that don't always get connected back to hormones at all. Poor energy, low mood, digestive changes and bloating, weight gain or an inability to shift weight despite your best efforts, feeling sluggish or puffy, and brain fog are all common presentations. These symptoms often get addressed individually, or put down to stress or diet alone, when a hormonal pattern underneath is actually driving several of them at once.
As a fertility nutritionist working with a functional medicine approach, I test broadly and build a nutrition, supplement and lifestyle plan around your specific pattern, rather than applying generic hormone balancing advice that may not fit what's actually going on for you.
